CCI (Centro de Capacitación en Informática)

The Centro de Capacitación en Informática, Center for Computer Learning, is an organization with the aim of closing the digital divide in our country, created by the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) and sponsored by the Senate Office of Santiago, under the responsibility of Senator Francisco Dominguez Brito. It is a nonprofit institution devoted to training in technology, with the task of providing opportunities to those who lack the necessary resources to fund courses and training that are often expensive and of vital importance because of their nature.

Since the early days of Community, CCI has been a great partner. Their donations of
computers and technological expertise have been excellent contributions to our success.

Acción Callejera

Throughout Santiago, young adults work as shoe cleaners (limpiabotas). Acción Callejera has a mission to provide food, mental assistance, and spiritual assitance to
these youth. Their main location is in front of very popular park in Santiago, and their work with youth is known throughout the island.

Relationship:
Recently, Community and Accion Callejera initiated a new project to educate the youth that Accion Callejera assits. We will provide English classes to a starter group of 10 – 20 students two days a week. We are very excited about the potential of this partnership.
